Hard Coating
Hard coating, also known as hard coat anodizing, is the process of chemically bonding aluminum with a protective coating second in strength only to diamonds! As you might guess, hard coating makes the metal highly durable and corrosion-resistant, making the process very popular in the automobile, aviation, and manufacturing industries among others. While hard coating a metal, similarly to when traditionally anodizing, it is critical that you maintain proper tank temperature through the entire range of the rectifier load.
Our direct hard coat cooling systems work by using a direct expansion evaporator, built to withstand the corrosive environment of sulfuric acid, to cool the process without a secondary fluid. They can be supplied with your choice of either water or air-cooled condensing units. The process allows the chiller’s suction temperature to run 10 degrees higher than their secondary fluid counterpart, reducing the horsepower and power consumption used by the chiller for increased operational efficiency.
